I have a passion and enthusiasm for language. Now I want to share that passion with you to help you achieve your goal of learning English.
Learning English can be scary, but it doesn't have to be that way.
I have lived overseas for many years and worked with people from a variety of countries where English has been the common language. I know how important it is to be patient, speak clearly, and have clear, relevant meaning.

However, speaking English doesn't automatically make me a teacher! I studied with TEFL.org, an accredited and highly respected training organisation based in the UK.
I have a Level 5 TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate (CELTA equivalent), one of the highest levels available. This perfectly compliments an earlier certificate, where grammar was the main focus of study (I love grammar!). The Level 5 training covered everything from the history of the English language to teaching individuals or large groups, business English, the principles of teaching, and lots more!

Additionally, I have certificates from Cambridge Assessment English for their specialised course on teaching English online, which is perfect for today's modern methods of education, along with a certificate in language assessment from the British Council.
Not every learner of English is the same and being able to adapt to each learner is important for a teacher. I also want to make sure that I am able to teach English to those with learning differences, so I took a short course with Lancaster University, UK, through the Future Learn platform, on Dyslexia and Foreign Language Learning. This was a fascinating and informative course, with ideas and tips to ensure learning English can be open to everyone.
Just like you, I am also keen to increase my own knowledge.

All lessons are tailored to your individual needs. Whether you are a complete beginner, in need of help with your English schoolwork, or if you want to improve your business English, your needs are assessed and a lesson plan will be created just for you.

Modern technology has made learning a new language even easier. Traditional lessons, face-to-face, will always be available, but now you can choose to have lessons online. Lessons can now fit in with your timescale, making the learning process more relaxed.
Online lessons are available, either individually or as a group, using a variety of platforms such as Skype, Teams or Google. Online lessons are the perfect way to fit learning English into your busy schedule, as lesson times can be flexible. All papers studied online will be forwarded to you after the lesson, to make sure you have all material available to you going forward. Please email me for prices and availability.

Private, face-to-face lessons are also available, within the Saint Lô - Villedieu-les-Poëles - Granville area of Normandy, France, either as individual lessons or group sessions. Again, your needs will be listened to, and lessons will be built upon what you want or need to learn. Age is not a problem, as I have experience teaching young children, school-age children, teenagers, and adults. A different approach can be taken for each age group, and for each type of learner; after all, we are all individual people! My goal is to give each student the knowledge that they need to feel confident when speaking, writing, listening or reading English, so I make sure that essential areas are covered in grammar, highlighting what is important to remember, and yes, as a native English speaker, I will work on your pronunciation!
